Certain golf equipment brands are able to immediately grab your attention when they release new product, and Srixon releasing new irons is a prime example of that. The company are known worldwide for producing irons that look fantastic and perform just as well.

Srixon ZX Irons

The new ZX range, which will officially launch in September this year, features two brand-new iron models which are said to be suited to the needs of golf's best players, along with a freshly improved utility iron.

The feature technology in the irons is MainFrame, a face design which is generated thanks to the help of artificial intelligence and results in a variable thickness pattern which adds ball speed.

There are four key innovations in the ZX irons which the brand say comes as a culmination of years of effort in creating irons, using what they have learned to produce the best possible option for golfers.

  • MainFrame - A milled pattern on the backside of each ZX5 iron face optimises COR, for greater ball speed and distance on every shot.

  • Tour Cavity - Mass repositioned to ZX7's sweet spot and perimeter provide a remarkably soft feel at impact and increased workability.

  • Progressive Grooves - Grooves in the 8 iron down to the PW on the ZX5 and ZX7 irons are sharper, narrower and deeper for more spin and stopping power on approaches into the green.

  • Tour V.T Sole - V-Shaped soles glide smoothly through the turf, while the ZX5 and ZX7 irons also feature the resurgence of the popular sole notches.

Jeff Brunski, Vice President of Research and Development at Srixon Golf, commented:

"Whilst the new ZX Irons are gorgeous to look down at, it's the technology inside that's even more exciting. Hotter faces designed using AI optimisation delivers more speed. Meanwhile, varying grooves throughout the iron set gives golfers consistent distance control, and forged construction helps them feel incredible at impact."

Srixon ZX5 Irons

The ZX5 combines ball speed technology with a premium forged feel in an iron head which looks sleek and sharp at address whilst still retaining some forgiveness.

Srixon says that these irons are golfers looking for forgiveness and explosive distance whilst still retaining the balance brought by a soft feel.

Srixon ZX7 Irons

The ZX7 is more of a 'true players iron' which looks and feels like a blade, with a compact forged shape and narrow sole allowing for ultimate workability.

Having said that, the Tour Cavity positions mass around the edges of the head to effectively widen the sweet spot and provide a little more assistance on off-centre hits.

Srixon ZX Utility Irons

Along with the two ZX iron models, Srixon are also releasing a new ZX utility iron which is a little thinner and smaller than the brand's traditional driving irons. It maintains forgiveness thanks to tungsten weighting added to the base of the club which lowers the centre of gravity for higher launch, along with a forged SUP10 face for enhanced speed and distance.

Srixon ZX Irons

Deliberately designed to transition well with both the ZX5 and ZX7 irons so that you can seamlessly add a little more forgiveness into the top end of your bag.

The Srixon ZX5 and ZX7 Irons will be available in the UK, Ireland and Europe from 19th September at an SRP of £899 for 5-PW steel set, or £999 for graphite.

The ZX Utility Irons launch in the UK and Ireland in January 2021 and are priced at £209.
